FAQs

Quotes and Surveys

Do you charge for quotes?

No. All quotes are completely free and there is no obligation to proceed. We will assess the work required, explain what we recommend and why, and give you a fixed price in writing before you commit to anything.

What is a drone survey?

A drone survey involves us flying a camera drone over your roof to inspect it in detail without needing scaffolding or ladders. It gives us a clear picture of the entire roof surface, including areas that are difficult to see from ground level. You receive footage of exactly what we see, so there are no surprises and no guesswork.

Do I need a drone survey before you can quote?

Not always. For straightforward repairs we can often quote from a visual inspection at ground level. For larger jobs, full re-roofs or anything where the condition of the roof is unclear, a drone survey gives us the accuracy to quote properly and means we are less likely to find unexpected problems once work begins.

How long does a survey take?

Most drone surveys take between 30 and 60 minutes depending on the size and complexity of the roof. You do not need to be present for the survey itself, though we are happy to talk you through the footage on the day if you are around.

How quickly can you provide a quote?

We aim to get written quotes back to you within 24 to 48 hours of the survey or site visit. For straightforward jobs we can often quote the same day.

The Work

How long does a roof repair take?

Most repairs are completed in a single day. More complex repairs, such as replacing a large section of tiles or fixing structural damage, may take two to three days. We will always give you a realistic timeframe upfront.

How long does a full re-roof take?

A standard terraced or semi-detached house re-roof typically takes three to five days. Larger or more complex roofs may take longer. We will give you a specific timeframe as part of your quote.

Do I need to be home while the work is carried out?

Not necessarily. For external roof work, we generally do not need access to the inside of your property. Where we do need internal access, for example to check a loft space, we will let you know in advance and arrange a time that suits you.

Will you move furniture or belongings before you start?

We ask that you clear any outdoor furniture, pots or items from directly below the work area before we arrive. Inside, if there is any risk of dust or debris, we will let you know and advise what to cover. We treat your property with care and always clean up fully before we leave.

Do you work in bad weather?

We cannot safely work in heavy rain, strong winds or icy conditions. If the weather forces us to reschedule, we will give you as much notice as possible and rebook at the earliest opportunity. We do not charge for weather-related postponements.

What roofing materials do you use?

We use quality materials suited to the specific job and property. For pitched roofs this typically means concrete or clay tiles, natural slate or synthetic slate. For flat roofs we use EPDM rubber, GRP fibreglass or felt depending on the situation. We will always explain the options and recommend what is most appropriate for your roof.

Do you handle planning permission?

Most standard roof repairs and like-for-like replacements do not require planning permission. If your property is listed or in a conservation area, or if you are making significant changes to the roof structure, permission may be needed. We will flag this during the survey and can advise you on the process, though the application itself is your responsibility.

Cost and Payment

How much does a roof repair cost?

It genuinely depends on the nature and extent of the work. A minor repair such as replacing a few slipped tiles can cost from around £150 to £400. A full re-roof on a standard semi-detached house typically ranges from £4,000 to £8,000. The only way to give you an accurate figure is to inspect the roof, which is why we offer free surveys and quotes.

Do you require a deposit?

Yes, we require a deposit before work begins on most jobs. The deposit amount is confirmed in your written quote. Final payment is due within 7 days of completion. We accept bank transfer and card payments.

Will the final price match the quote?

Yes. We agree the price in writing before we start, and that is what you pay. The only exception is if we uncover additional problems once work is underway that were not visible or accessible during the survey. If that happens, we stop, tell you what we have found, and agree any extra cost with you before we continue. We never carry out additional work without your approval.

Guarantee and Insurance

What guarantee do you offer?

We back all installation work with a 10-year workmanship guarantee. If something goes wrong as a result of how we carried out the work, we will come back and fix it at no cost to you. Materials are covered by the relevant manufacturer warranties, which we provide on completion.

Are you insured?

Yes. We hold full public liability insurance and employers liability insurance. Copies of our insurance certificates are available on request.

General

What areas do you cover?

We work primarily across West London and the surrounding areas. If you are not sure whether we cover your postcode, give us a call or send us a message and we will let you know.

How do I know if my roof needs repairing or replacing?

Common signs that something needs attention include missing, cracked or slipped tiles, damp patches on ceilings or walls, visible sagging, moss or algae growth, and daylight visible through the loft. A drone survey is the most accurate way to assess the actual condition of your roof and will tell you whether a repair is sufficient or whether replacement is the better long-term option.

Can you work on flat roofs as well as pitched roofs?

Yes. We handle both pitched and flat roofs, including repairs, full replacements and new installations. We work on residential properties of all types including houses, extensions, outbuildings and garages.
